Mizwad

Privacy policy

Last updated: 14 October 2026

This policy explains what the Mizwad mobile app (“Mizwad”, “we”) collects, why, who processes it and how you can delete it. If you have a question, write to support@mizwad.app.

What we collect

DataWhy
Name and email address, from Google or Apple sign-inTo create your account and show your name in the app.
Profile photo, if you add oneShown on your profile and next to your reviews. It is stored at a public web address.
Home country and onboarding answers (trip purpose, interests)To show your currency, your consulate and relevant content.
Reviews, place reports, saved places, saved duas, trip plan and checklistSo the app can keep them for you. Reviews are visible to other users with your name and photo.
Photos you take with the label scanner, and the scan resultsTo analyse the ingredients and keep your scan history.
Crash reports (device model, app version, error details)To find and fix bugs. They do not include your name, email or IP address.

What we do not collect

We do not sell your data, show ads or track you across other apps and websites.

Who processes your data

When you open directions, the app hands the place's address to the map app you choose (Apple Maps, Google Maps, Baidu Maps or Amap); that app's own privacy policy applies.

These providers may store data outside your country. Data travels over encrypted connections (HTTPS).

How long we keep it

We keep your data while you have an account. You can clear your scan history in the app at any time; to remove a single review, write to us. When you delete your account, everything listed above is deleted immediately. Crash reports expire on their own within 90 days.

Your rights

You can see and edit your profile in the app, delete your account in the app (Profile → Edit profile → Delete account) or by email, and ask us for a copy of your data at support@mizwad.app.

Children

Mizwad is not intended for children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect their data.

Halal information

Places are listed as halal based on the venue's own 清真 (qīngzhēn) sign; Mizwad does not certify them. The label scanner uses AI and gives guidance, not a religious ruling.

Changes

If we change this policy, we will update the date above and, for important changes, tell you in the app.
